KIPLING - It was one of the last days for perfect golfing weather, with temperatures of 29 C, this past Saturday for the men’s golf tournament put on by Kingswood Golf Club.
The annual men’s classic welcomed 27 golfers to the course for their final tournament of the season. This was an 18-hole event with players being flighted after the first nine holes.
“The day belonged to Mark Olson who won the championship flight and also the 18-man horse race,” explains Jason Balogh, member of the Kingswood golf committee.
Olson shot a 72 for the win, with Jason Balogh finishing second at 73.
First flight winner was James Gallagher with an 83, and second flight winner Winston Grayson had an 89.
The over 50 winner was Jack Soloshy, who shot an 84. Mark Toppings finished second with an 89.
Specialty hole winners included:
Longest drive - Lindon Walker;
Closest to the pin - Jason Balogh and James Gallagher; and
Longest Putt - Kelvin Stefanuik.
