MOOSE JAW - Several members of the Estevan Figure Skating Club were at the Skate Canada Saskatchewan sectionals from Nov. 5-7 in Moose Jaw.
Rachel Duncan finished first in the pre-juvenile under-13 category. In the juvenile under-15 division, McKenna Bohn was seventh and Sydney Brooks came in ninth.
Coach Janice Grochalski said this was the first competition for these skaters in almost two years. She described it as a great learning opportunity to transition back to competitions and get back into it again.
Other competitions this year include the Starskate Invitational in Indian Head on Dec. 11, the Region 1 competition in Arcola on Feb. 19, 2021, and the Saskatchewan Winter Games in Regina from Feb. 23-26.
Also the winter classic provincial competition will be held in Estevan from March 4-6. This is the largest figure skating event each year in the province.
