ASSINIBOIA - The Assiniboia Curling Club season is about to get rolling. The ice is in and ready to use, due to Icemaker Quentin and his crew.
By the time this reaches our readers, we’ll have had two afternoon sessions, Monday and Wednesday.. Don’t be afraid to drop in and join the action at 1:30 p.m. if at all interested. It’s a great way to get a little exercise and socialization.
The Monday Night Travelling League will kick off on Monday, Nov. 14. We are still waiting on confirmation of a few entries. Rinks entered come from Lafleche, Mossbank, and Assiniboia. Southland Co-op is one sponsor and we are currently searching for another possibility.
The Thursday night league is completely full with 16 teams. Some new blood has joined our ranks, which is a great thing. Richardson Pioneer is again the sponsor. Two draws are scheduled for 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. each week.
Curlsask Clinic Day is Saturday, Nov. 12 as previously advertised. All interested curlers are welcome, local and surrounding communities. Ages five to 10 go from 4 to 5 p.m., ages 11 to 18 will play from 5 to 6 p.m., and all others compete from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Call 642-5115 or 640-9655 to register.
Finally, we are planning a “Kick Off Fun Spiel” on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18 and 19. Games will be six ends, and fun will be encouraged.. You can enter by calling the office at 306-642-5115.
If you are interested in a shorter six week block on Friday nights, let us know so we can do some more planning.
Finally, our first monthly “Open Drop in Night” will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Anything is possible. We’ll organize based on interest. Regular curling, doubles, triples, just practice. No registration is necessary. We have lots of brooms and sliders as needed.
Until next month….. let’s get “rockin’!!”
