Ty Petersen will get a chance to continue his goaltending lacrosse career, as he was recently drafted to the 2021 SWAT Junior A lacrosse team. He started playing lacrosse in Weyburn, and then played with some Elite teams in both Regina and Saskatoon. He was drafted first place in 2018 for the Junior A category.
鈥淚 have worked hard to improve, and am looking forwarding to having more competitive action at this level,鈥 said Peterson.
鈥淲hen I was AP鈥檇 with the Junior B Regina Barracudas, I really enjoyed the competitiveness of the game.鈥
鈥淭he coaching staff is very intense, and they want the best for their players. I am very excited to get in net, and show them what I can do.鈥
The Saskatchewan SWAT is an A level lacrosse club consisting of teams in the Junior A, Junior B, PGLL Junior C, as well as 17U, 14U and 12U teams.
The SWAT Junior As will kick off their season with three games on Friday, July 16; Saturday, July 17; and Sunday, July 18. It is a very short season, with only 10 games scheduled so far.
