Welcome to Wawota, Brayden Stewart! Brayden is the newest member of the staff at Parkland School. He hails from Maryfield  and is residing with Devin Stewart.

Brett and Kim Westphal from Wrentham, Alta., visited with Brett’s family, Carol and Clarence Westphal at Deer View Lodge last week. 

Congratulations to Faye Rempel and Theresa Hebert, who were the winners of a half of beef each. This was a fundraiser for the Wawota Forum.  Cudmore Farms and Hebert Livestock Ventures donated the beef and Moose Mountain Meats donated the cutting and wrapping. A great fundraising for the forum.

Word has been received of the passing of Dale Desjarlais of Saskatoon. He passed away March 7 at the age of 72 years. He was the husband of Lynda Filteau, daughter of Ed and Laura Filteau. They were former residents and business owners in Wawota.

Sympathy also to Cameron Skulmoski and Rae Lamontagne and family and friends on the passing of Cameron's grandmother, Marion Hoff.  Marion passed away on March 13 at the age of 93 years. She is from Redvers but recently been a resident of Deer View Lodge in Wawota.

She was the widow of Ted Hoff and a mother to Pam (Ron) Gettling, Ward (Jan) Hoff, Tracey (Glenn) Astren ,Richard(Diana) Hoff and Melanie (Mark) Houston. A funeral service will be held at a later date.

Sympathy also goes out to Clarence and Carol Westphal on the passing of Clarence's sister, Colleen Gates of Winnipeg. She passed away on March 14 at the age of 60 years. She is the widow of Rick Gates and is survived by her family, Paul, Scott (Kerri), Sandy (Vince) and Melissa (Roger) and their families. A funeral will be planned at a future date. 

These families who have lost loved ones are mourning the lost but are thankful to have had them in their lives.
