The red area is where the freezing rain warning is as of 2:30 p.m. Further north, in the grey area, fog has reduced visibility and is creating hoar frost.

SOUTHWEST - Road conditions have improved in the southwest of the province, but the freezing rain has moved east and is now (as of 2:30 p.m.) affecting the Assiniboia and Coronach areas.

According to Environment Canada, the weak disturbance that began moving through southwestern Saskatchewan this morning is tapering off as the system moves southeastward. The freezing rain is mixed with snow in some localities, and with temperatures expected around the freezing point.

Other areas of Saskatchewan are seeing fog. A special weather statement has been issued by Environment Canada. Near zero visibility in fog continues this afternoon. The fog may break up through the day but is expected to redevelop this evening in most areas. There will also be a risk of freezing drizzle in these areas which may lead to slippery conditions. If travelling, be prepared for slippery conditions and areas of near zero visibility. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.

Check with the before heading out.
