10th end: Italy laying two touching side and back of eight foot at Jacobs first shot. Jacobs makes takeout to sit shot stone back eight foot, Retornaz goes for runback takeout and just misses, sits second and third shot top 12 foot and side 12 foot. Jacobs makes great double to finish off threat and secure the win. He caps the night shooting 99 per cent.

Ninth end: Gallant’s turn for a bad break shot, with his attempted raise takeout getting nothing but Canadian stones and leaving Italy laying three all inside eight foot. Kennedy clears out some of the trouble with a nice double, Italy and Canada have rocks side by side at top of four foot. Mosaner gets takeout on Canada stone but leaves double. Kennedy makes it to clear out Italy rocks while rolling to edge of 12 foot. Jacobs draws top four foot behind cover. Retornaz makes hit to sit one in four foot. Jacobs replies with same shot to lay one. Retornaz hits and rolls out for blank. Another great recovery for Canada.

Eighth end: Things are pretty open heading into skips stones. Jacobs makes hit to sit two in four foot and twelve foot. Retornaz makes nice double to sit one touching eight foot. Jacobs hits and sticks. Retornaz hits and rolls out for blank.

Seventh end: Kennedy throws a raise takeout that ends up in catastrophe for Canada, taking out three of Canada’s stones in the house in easily the worst bad break of the tournament for the Jacobs rink. Italy sits four all around the button. Mosaner throws centreline guard. Kennedy throws runback takeout and gets one, three Italy stones lined up behind t-line in four foot. Retornaz draws top four foot. Jacobs makes nice double to get Canada out of trouble and sit shot rock on button. Retornaz makes tap back hit to lay three around four foot. Jacobs draws button with backing for one.

Sixth end: Kennedy makes amazing angle raise double takeout with his first shot to give Canada three stones gathered all around four foot. House gets cleaned out by Mosaner and Retornaz after that, Italy laying one back eight foot at Jacobs first shot and he makes takeout to replace shot rock. Retornaz hits and rolls out. Jacobs throws through house for blank.

FIfth end: Jacobs hits and rolls behind cover with first shot to sit top 12 foot guarded and second shot touching edge of eight foot at side of house. Retornaz throws nice draw to button behind cover. Jacobs makes great angle raise takeout on Retornaz’s previous shot to sit buried at top of button. Retornaz throws great draw to grab enough of button to score one.

Fourth end: Canada laying two top 12 foot and side eight foot touching four foot with plenty of guards in front heading into Kennedy’s final shot. Tap back on own rock in 12 foot comes in heavy and pushes out back, shooter sits top 12-foot. Retornaz hits Kennedy’s previous rock and rolls to side of eight foot wide open. Jacobs hits that stone and rolls behind cover into eight foot to continue to sit two. Retornaz tries runback double and just misses both but gets one. Jacobs has draw for two, gets full eight foot for deuce.

Third end: Pretty clean end heading into skip stones. Retornaz hits Jacobs shot rock at top 12 foot to sit top 12 foot wide open. Jacobs hits and sits edge top 12 foot. Retornaz hits and now bites edge of 12 foot. Jacobs hits and blanks end.

Second end: Things relatively wide open heading into Jacobs’ final shot, with Canada sitting one at edge of front 12 foot. Jacobs draws in to touch front four foot behind cover, Retornaz has draw for one and puts it back four foot to touch button. Italy scores one.

Things are just about set to go for Draw 11 as Canada caps their run of murderer’s row opponents against former World bronze medalist Joel Retornaz. Brad Jacobs is 4-1 after playing two former World champions back to back, falling in an extra to Scotland’s David Mouat Monday afternoon and defeating Sweden’s Niklas Edin on Tuesday morning. A win and Canada is tied for first place.
