Moose Jaw police arrest youth for alleged theft of 48 cigarette packs

On July 6 at around 1:45 a.m., a MJPS patrol officer witnessed a break-and-enter in progress at a business in the 400 block of Lillooet Street West involving three individuals.

Over the weekend, the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) arrested and charged a male youth with break-and-enter following an incident.

On July 6 at around 1:45 a.m., a MJPS patrol officer witnessed a break-and-enter in progress at a business in the 400 block of Lillooet Street West involving three individuals.

After a brief pursuit, one of the suspects was apprehended and arrested carrying a duffel bag, while the other two ran away.

Police recovered 48 packs of cigarettes and several packages of rolling papers after searching the arrested individual and the duffel bag he was carrying.

The two additional suspects involved have not been identified at this time. One individual was described as wearing a black hoodie and green pants, while the other wore all-white clothing.

The male youth will appear in Moose Jaw Provincial Court at a later date.

The incident remains under investigation.
