REGINA - The final figures are in for FROST Regina presented by Co-op, and it was another well attended event.
In a news release Monday, organizers report that over 29,400 visitors showed up at all three hubs in Regina for the fourth annual winter event.
Weather played a major role in impacting the festival in 2025. While in 2024 it was unusually mild conditions that closed several outdoor venues, due to ice and snow melting into large puddles of water, by contrast it was bitter cold that impacted outdoor festivities this year.
Organizers report that Frost @ Downtown hub had to close on the last day of the event Feb. 2 due to the extreme cold, although Frost @ Wascana and Frost @Warehouse did manage to keep going into that final day.
There were a number of changes to FROST Regina in 2025, which saw the festival take place over a reduced schedule of four days running Jan. 30 to Feb. 2.
Among the changes this year was The Grind, the street-style snowboarding series held for the first time this year in collaboration with Canada Snowboard.
Winners of the Grind were, on the Men’s side: 1. Keenan Demchuk 2. Michael Modesti and 3. Gavin Sorg. On the Women’s side the top three were 1. Adel Talyspayeva 2. Nora Beck and. 3. Sophia Bruck. The awards for Best Trick went to Sophia Bruck and Joshua Lebrun.
Also in their news release, organizers provided the following stats about this year’s event:
- 43 Volunteers helped over three days,
- over 7,470 cups of hot chocolate were served across all hubs,
