REGINA - A man has been charged following a weapons complaint in Regina.
On Dec. 27, at approximately 4 p.m., police were dispatched to a home in the zero block of Pine Place for the reports of a weapons offence.
Information received was that a man inside the residence might have access to a firearm.
Police attended the scene and arrested the suspect without incident.
In searching the residence, police found a modified airsoft gun, ammunition, a conducted energy weapon, items consistent with drug trafficking, and personal identity documents not belonging to the suspect.
As a result of this investigation, a 27 year-old man, from Regina, is charged with: possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order; unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon; and possession of an identity document; and possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused made their first appearance on these charges in provincial court on Dec. 30 at 9:30 a.m.
