CRAVEN - This year at Country Thunder, it’s not just Nickelback and Luke Combs bringing the hea — Mother Nature has joined the lineup. With scorching temperatures in the forecast for day one, featuring Gord Bamford, the heatwave is expected to persist through the weekend.
Michael Brenholen, the Director of Operations for St. John’s Ambulance, says staying hydrated is key, and festival revelers should take extra precautions to enjoy the festival safely – given rising temperatures.
Brenholen advises festival-goers to wear cowboy hats to stay cool and protect themselves from the sun. “A cowboy hat is the perfect way to beat the heat,” he says, advising a hat that covers the entire head and provides broad shade. Additionally he say’s people should be aware of the state fellow concert goers are in.
“Take care of each other,” Brenholen urges. “If you see someone in heat distress, offer them water or wet towels to cool them down. Children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable to the effects of extreme heat.”
Country Thunder wraps up Sunday night with Luke Combs on the main stage. On day one, attendees should prepare for the hottest day of the event.
