REGINA – Regina Police Service has charged three people with multiple firearms charges after an arrest Sunday.
Police say that on Sunday, Feb. 9 at approximately 9 a.m., they were dispatched to the 4600 block of 4th Avenue for the report of a weapons offence involving firearms.
A short time later, police located an associated vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop near 4th Avenue. Three occupants were inside and they were arrested without incident, say police. A search of the vehicle revealed two firearms.
As a result of this investigation, a 29-year-old man from Biggar, is charged with:
- careless storage of a firearm x 2;
- possession of an unauthorized firearm;
- unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle x 2;
- possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order x 5; and
- possession of a loaded firearm.
A 32-year-old Regina man is charged with:
- careless storage of a firearm x 2;
- possession of an unauthorized firearm;
- unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle x 2;
- possession of a loaded firearm; and
- possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order x 7.
A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- careless storage of a firearm x 2;
- possession of an unauthorized firearm;
- unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle x 2;
- possession of a loaded firearm;
- failure to comply with disposition; and
- identity fraud x 3.
