REGINA — A burned-out tail light led police to making arrests on weapons charges.
Saturday night police stopped a vehicle, and determined the driver had a suspended license. Police officers also noticed a gun in the car.
A search turned up two guns, one loaded, one unloaded as well as ammunition.
Two people are facing multiple weapons charges, and charges for breaching court-ordered conditions.
A 31-year-old from Saint John’s, Nfld. has been charged with:
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession unauthorized;
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition;
- two counts of careless storage of a firearm; and
- three counts possession of firearm/ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
A 30-year-old man from Indian Head is charged with:
- possession of a firearm knowing its possession unauthorized;
- possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition;
- two counts of careless storage of a firearm; and
- failure to comply with condition of release order/
Both have made initial court appearances June 10.
