The Lake Diefenbaker Tourism group aimed at promoting what the lake area has to offer has organized two contests where participants of all ages have a chance at winning some prizes.

The first one is a coloring contest celebrating the youth of the lake area.聽 Participants aged 16 years and younger are encouraged to visit the LDT Facebook page located at Facebook.com/LakeDiefenbaker and find the contest post.聽 From there, print off a sheet and color it in, and also make sure to fill out the information portion.聽 Artist creations can be mailed to Lake Diefenbaker Tourism at Box 426 in Outlook, postal code S0L 2N0, or they can be scanned and emailed to [email protected].

Entries will be accepted until August 25, after which they will be posted to LDT鈥檚 Facebook page in a photo album with the artist鈥檚 first name and hometown.聽 From there, voting will commence, and the number of 鈥渓ikes鈥 that a post receives will determine the winner, which will be announced on August 30.

The winning creation will receive a $50 prepaid Mastercard, and there will also be gift cards for $25 to the second and third place winners.

The second contest is Lake Diefenbaker Tourism鈥檚 annual photo contest, looking for the best and boldest snapshots that capture lake life in a unique and attention-grabbing way.聽 To submit a photo, participants can email them to the address provided in this article, and you鈥檙e asked to provide contact information with your submission, as well as the location where your photo was taken.

Photos must be taken near Lake Diefenbaker or the surrounding area.

The deadline for entries is August 25.聽 As with the coloring contest, a photo album comprised of all submissions will be posted online and voting via Facebook 鈥渓ikes鈥 will determine the winning photograph, with the winner to be revealed on August 30 at 6:00 pm.

The contest winner will receive $300 in 鈥楧iefenbaker Dollars鈥.
