Canora is losing an icon – all the best to Chuck and Cora

First of all, congratulations on your retirement! You have given so much to the community over the past 35 years and every person who has lived there, you have touched and will always remember you as kind, generous, hardworking people.

First of all, congratulations on your retirement!  You have given so much to the community over the past 35 years and every person who has lived there, you have touched and will always remember you as kind, generous, hardworking people.

Chuck, I remember countless hours spent at your tables with my high school friends, eating fries and gravy and talking about our lives that lay ahead of us. One of my fondest memories was a day when I asked if you could put onion rings on the menu. You were both perplexed and intrigued by my question and when I explained what they were, you hurried away into the kitchen. Within minutes, you produced a plate of homemade onion rings! They were amazing and you never even charged me for them. I wonder if they are still on your menu.

My mother Jean absolutely adored you.

Chuck, Cora and your children, you were always so good to her and for that I am grateful. How am I ever going to "rock a combo" again?  Your food is incredible and your sense of family and community commendable!

Canora is losing an icon! All the best to you and Cora in your next phase of life. You will be missed! If you are ever in our nation's capital, I would love to cook for you!
