聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 A hairdresser is opening a new wedding rental business in Canora to give brides and their families help in decorating for a special day.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Carole Reay has just opened Ultimate Elegance Wedding and Event Rentals, and is running the business out of her home on 174 Shevhenko Crescent. After hairdressing for 20 years, she began her business when she was involved with the marriage of her daughter in April.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淭here鈥檚 really a need for a business like this in this town,鈥� she said. 鈥淔or my daughter鈥檚 wedding, we had to get everything from Regina, rent a U-haul, and keep the U-haul until Tuesday because the stores weren鈥檛 open after the wedding.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 She wanted to start the business partially to make it easier on brides. Since she runs her business out of home, she鈥檚 available to help set up and take things down, and items can be returned any day of the week.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Reay also considers the business a necessity for herself. She calls herself a 鈥渃rafty girl,鈥� but did not have an outlet for her creative side since she was busy as a stay-at-home mother. Now that her daughters have 鈥渓eft the nest,鈥� she is glad to have the opportunity to start a business.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 It鈥檚 taken a lot of work and time, she admits, but she is now officially open.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚 don鈥檛 just want to do this for fun,鈥� Reay said. 鈥淚 find the wedding rental business fascinating, and needed to get into it to express my ideas.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ultimate Elegance Wedding and Event Rentals provides wedding d茅cor, including table coverings and accessories. Reay sews and crafts decorations herself, and so far has created two different lines of decorations. One is an elegant black-and-white design accented with crystals. 鈥淲e really like it sparkly,鈥� she admitted.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The other is a favourite for outdoor weddings, and is a rustic, Western style she calls 鈥淐hevy Chic.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The two styles can be matched with various colours to create a personalized wedding theme. 鈥淏rides tend to have specific ideas about what they want,鈥� she said.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚 want to work with them to make the day-as clich茅 as it is-a day to remember.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Reay is originally from the Regina area, and has lived in Canora for over 20 years. She is now making preparations for bookings for 2017 weddings.
