聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 In the Village of Rama, both the mayor and two current town councillors are leaning towards seeking re-election. Darrel Dutchak is Rama鈥檚 current mayor, and leads council with Jeff Hunter and Darryl McLeod.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Currently, Jeff Hunter and Darryl McLeod can not say for sure whether they will definitely seek re-election, but they are working under the assumption that they will, as their nominations must be submitted by September 21.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Dutchak is running for re-election after 25 years as the mayor of the Village of Rama, and has many reasons why he wishes to continue on as mayor.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚n 2019, we plan to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Rama. I would definitely like to be a part of that important event,鈥� he said.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Dutchak also wishes to remain as mayor due to some important projects Rama will be facing in the future.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淭here is going to be a reassessment of the village soon, and I think I鈥檓 currently the only one with experience in that area,鈥� he said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 important to have someone who knows the natural differences between houses and buildings when you鈥檙e going through a reassessment. I want to continue to be a part of my community.鈥�
