Update: Saskatoon Police release additional information on sexual assault

Update: The Saskatoon Police Service is providing further clarification regarding recent events of sexual assault.

In each occurrence, the victim was walking in the area of Dagnone Crescent; the encounters were brief and, fortunately, the victims were able to escape the assault by their own actions. In the interest of public safety but with respect to the victim’s privacy, the SPS is confirming the sexual assaults involved a combination of physical, verbal, and exposure-related advancements towards the victim.

Members of the public are asked to remain watchful of the people and events around them and to look out for one another. Anyone with information or video evidence believed to be relevant is asked to contact the SPS or Crime Stoppers. Police encourage community members to report any signs of suspicious activity to police immediately. Contact 306-975-8300 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.

SASKATOON - Police are investigating following separate reports of women being sexually assaulted by a stranger in the area of Dagnone Crescent in recent days.

The suspect is described as a black male, five-foot-nine to six feet in height, and approximately 180 pounds with a slim build; his age is estimated between 15 and 25 years. Saskatoon Police say that such reports are of great concern to them and they remind community members to remain watchful of the people and events occurring around them.

Anyone with information or video evidence to offer investigators is encouraged to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477; in an emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately.
