YORKTON - Yorkton hosted a spring football jamboree at Century Field Saturday.
In the city near-100 young players have geared up to hone their gridiron skills with some spring action, explained Jason Boyda one of the organizers.
Boyda explained they have three teams for spring, Grade 5/6 and a Grade 7/8 boys teams each with roughly 40 players and a female squad of 20.
With some practices in the books it was time to go head-to-head with some game action on the weekend with teams from Melville, Indian Head, Fort Qu’Appelle, Preeceville, Dauphin and Lemberg in the city.
Other communities are expected to host similar events in the coming weeks.
