YORKTON - The Yorkton Terriers and Estevan Bruins tangled Saturday at the Westland Insurance Arena, with the home team taking the lead early.
Jaron Desnoyers started things with a powerplay goal at 6:37, to put the Terriers up 1-0.
Vinay Junek added one at 11:55 and Yorkton took a 2-0 to the dressing room after 20-minutes of action.
In the middle stanza Luke Hogan scored at 5:57 to put the Bruins on the board.
Fifteen seconds later Rorey Elson potted a goal to knot the contest 2-2.
A powerplay effort from Kaelen Whittingham at 13:42 the edged the visitors ahead 3-2.
Rorey Elson made it 4-2 with an unassisted effort at 16:56.
David Coyle cut the lead in half with a powerplay goal – his 30th of the season with 42 seconds left in the period.
It was 1:22 into the third when Jaron Desnoyers tied the contest 4-4.
Yorkton inched ahead at 11:25 on a Riley Cormier goal.
Callum Creig was in the net for Yorkton facing 22-shots, while Luke Norman guarded the twine for the Bruins facing 30-shots.
The Terriers wrap-up their regular season next weekend with a home-and-home set against Melville, playing in the Mills’ barn Friday then hosting their Highway #10 rivals Saturday.
