YORKTON - The Parkland Pirates and Canora Supers are embroiled in the South East Saskatchewan Baseball League best-of-five finals.
The Supers topped the regular season going 5-1-2 for 12 points, just two better than the 5-3-0 Pirates.
Canora then eliminated the Yorkton Marlins, while the Pirates topped Saltcoats in semi final action.
Game one of the finals was played in Canora with the Supers winning 4-2 thanks to the long bomb. Canora launched four solo home runs by Kholton Shewchuk, Derek Palagian, Tyrell Thorpe, and Kody Rock for the win.
Rock was the winning pitcher.
Game two was played under the lights of Jubilee Park with the Pirates shutting out the Supers 2-0 to even the series.
Kholton Shewchuk took the loss on the mound for the Pirates, with Evan McCubbing the win for Yorkton.
The game-winning run was plated on a single by Evan Johnson.
Game three was back at Al Sapieha in Canora Friday, with the Pirates winning by a score of 5-3 to go up in the series two-games-to-one.
The Pirates can win the championship at Jubilee Park in Yorkton Monday with a game start set for 8:15.
Game 5 (if necessary) will be Tuesday night in Canora.
