Big River RCMP search for man accused of threatening people with firearm

A police investigation determined that the same man had approached two homes on Big River First Nation and threatened the occupants with a firearm.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-7 and 170 pounds. He has dark hair and brown eyes, as well as tattoos on both temples.

BIG RIVER – RCMP are searching for a suspect following several firearms-related incidents on Big River First Nation.

On Sept. 18, Big River RCMP received a report of an injured man on Big River First Nation. He was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious. Investigation determined the victim was involved in an altercation with another man.

Further police investigation determined that the same man had approached two homes on Big River First Nation and threatened the occupants with a firearm.  One incident was on Sept. 18 and one on Sept. 19. No injuries were reported to police.

Big River RCMP are actively investigating these incidents with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services, RCMP Critical Incident Response Team and RCMP Crime Reduction Team.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-7 and 170 pounds. He has dark hair and brown eyes, as well as tattoos on both temples.

If you see the suspect, do not approach him.

Police don’t believe the incidents are random and say if their investigation determines there is an imminent risk to public safety exists, they will inform the public.
