YORKTON – The second-degree murder charge against Donna Spilchen, 61, is already at the case management phase, which is scheduled for May 13 in Yorkton Provincial Court.
During case management, defence, the Crown and judge go over issues to be dealt with during a trial, if needed, and it is closed to the media. The aim of case management is to reduce the number of issues that would have to be dealt with during a trial.
Spilchen was arrested in December 2023 in connection to the death of William Byblow in Yorkton.
Yorkton RCMP were searching for Spilchen after they found Byblow deceased in a home on 6th Avenue North in Yorkton at about 9:15 a.m. on Nov. 30, 2023. They had gone to the home after getting a request to do a welfare check
Spilchen remains in custody.
