Man arrested in Saskatoon after waving fake gun

A concerned citizen called police saying a man was waving a firearm in Saskatoon.

On March 2 at around 5:00 p.m., police were called to the 200 block of 1st Avenue South for a report of a man seen waving a firearm.

SASKATOON - A man was arrested Thursday after a concerned citizen observed him to be in possession of a firearm in a public place.

On March 2 at around 5:00 p.m., police were called to the 200 block of 1st Avenue South for a report of a man seen waving a firearm. Officers quickly arrived and located the suspect based on witness descriptions. Following a brief struggle, he was taken into custody. An imitation firearm was located in his backpack.

As a result, the 18-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges relating to unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon and carrying an imitation weapon dangerous to public peace.
