NIPAWIN – A 24-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault following an assault that sent another man to hospital with serious injuries.
RCMP say that at about 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 4, they got a report of a serious assault in Nipawin. The police investigation determined an altercation occurred between two men on 4 Street North.
The other man was arrested without incident. As a result of continued investigation by Nipawin RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Services, he was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He appears in Melfort Provincial Court on Aug. 8.
