His co-accused, 22-year-old Lexis Storoschuk from Spruce Home was granted bail in October and her matter was adjourned to Nov. 21 to give her time to get counsel.

When their vehicle was stopped officers observed illicit drugs and paraphernalia. They seized about 244 grams of suspected methamphetamine, three prohibited firearms, ammunition, weapons including brass knuckles, a sum of cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Ackegan and Storoschuk were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, three counts, unlicensed possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, two counts, possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and resisting /obstructing a peace officer.

Ackegan was also charged with four counts of failing to comply with a probation order, four counts of possession of a weapon contrary to order, and failing to surrender authorization. He was also wanted on a warrant from Prince Albert Police Service.

In December 2020, Ackegan had pleaded guilty in Prince Albert Provincial Court to weapons and drug-related charges avoiding a trial. In February 2021, he was sentenced to 23 months in jail.
