Trial adjourned for 3 men facing drug trafficking, weapons charges

A trial for three men facing drug trafficking and weapons-related offences is now set for September.

Prince Albert Police raided a home in the 1900 block of 13 Street West in Prince Albert. They located drug packaging materials, including multiple baggies and two functioning digital scales.

PRINCE ALBERT – A trial for three men facing drug trafficking and weapons-related offences has been adjourned to September.

Modi Lako, 29, of Prince Albert, Yasin Ali, 28, of Edmonton, and Shyrell Nyack, 23, [residence unknown] are charged with possession of the proceeds of crime, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, careless use of a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Lako, Ali, and Nyack were arrested September 2022 following an investigation by Prince Albert Police Service’s Crime Reduction Team. Nyack is currently at bench warrant status after being released on bail.

In the Prince Albert police investigation, they seized seized cocaine, methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, ammunition, and more than $6,000 in cash.
