SASKATOON – A trial for a woman charged with second-degree murder in in the death of 37-year-old Adam Jeffrey Willett has been set for March 2025. Ryah Marty Sorenson’s jury trial is expected to be long, according to court records.

A pre-trial conference between the judge, Crown and defence, is scheduled for March 15, 2024. The purpose of a pre-trial conference is to consider such matters to ensure a fair and expeditious trial. It’s an informal meeting held in judge’s chambers and closed to the media.

Sorenson was arrested in December 2022 after Saskatoon police were called to a home in the 1600 block of 7 Street East. They found Willett’s body. He is originally from Delisle.

Willett is remembered for his love and passion for his music. He loved jamming with friends, playing his saxophone and guitars, according to his obituary,

"For some of us, we will always remember Adam and his dance moves, busting out whenever the song 'Solija boy' would come on over the speakers at overdrive."

The charge against Sorenson hasn't been tested in court.
