Woman charged for uttering threats at Regina high school

Suspect threatened violence may be carried out at the school, say police.

REGINA – A 20-year-old Regina woman has been charged with three counts of uttering threats after an incident at a local high school.

Police were called to the school on the 1200 block of College Avenue at 11:25 a.m. on Feb. 24 for a report of threatening messages directed at a student.

“Early information provided to police suggested the messages included threats of violence that may be carried out at the school,” said RPS in a media release. “Through investigation, police determined the source of the messages.”

On Feb. 26, police arrested Jamie Lynn Sangwais - the suspect in their case - at a residence. She was taken into custody without incident and made her first court appearance on these charges on Feb. 27.
