Woman on the run for 3 years after receiving bail

Charged with numerous weapons-related offences after police raided a home in February 2020.

PRINCE ALBERT – A woman charged with numerous weapons-related offences three years ago is still evading police.

On Feb. 12, 2020, Shannon Sanderson, then 29, was arrested after the Prince Albert RCMP Crime Reduction Team and Integrated Street Enforcement Team raided a home on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

At the residence, police seized a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, a replica handgun, a spear-gun, and hydromorphone.

Sanderson appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court in March 2020 and was released on bail. She failed to appear in court and has been wanted by police since.

Sanderson is charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number, and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

The charges against her haven’t been tested in court.
