Saskatoon man assaulted by unknown group using his patio

The suspects were reported to be armed with a knife and a collapsible baton.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., Dec. 27, Saskatoon police received a report of an altercation between a group of people at a home in the 400 block of Fairmont Drive.

SASKATOON — Two men and one woman are facing charges after a Saskatoon homeowner confronted a group of five strangers sitting on his patio.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., Dec. 27, Saskatoon police received a report of an altercation between a group of people at a home in the 400 block of Fairmont Drive. Upon arrival, officers were told by the residents that five unknown people had been sitting on their patio. When the homeowner confronted them he was threatened and physically assaulted. He suffered minor physical injuries.

The suspects were reported to be armed with a knife and a collapsible baton.

When they were confronted by another resident of the home, the group fled the scene on foot.

Three suspects were located by police in a nearby park and arrested. They were found to be in possession of the baton, two knives, brass knuckles and ammunition, say police.

A 36-year-old male is now facing charges, including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and carrying a concealed weapon. He was wanted on outstanding warrants.

A 29-year-old man is facing charges, including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace (x2), and carrying a concealed weapon (x2). He was also wanted on outstanding warrants. 

A 27-year-old female was charged with willfully obstructing a peace officer.
