Police seek public's help following assault in Prince Albert

At approximately 1:55 a.m. on March 23, police were dispatched to the 500 block of 21st Street East for report of an assault.

PRINCE ALBERT - The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating after responding to an aggravated assault at a residence on Sunday.

At approximately 1:55 a.m. on March 23, police were dispatched to the 500 block of 21st Street East for report of an assault.

Initial information stated a 33-year-old man had injuries consistent with an assault.

Upon police arrival, officers located an injured male and a female in the backyard.

Parkland Ambulance arrived on scene shortly after and transported the male to hospital for further treatment.

Further investigation revealed the suspect showed up at the residence with another person and upon being asked to leave, allegedly punched the victim.

The suspect then left before returning moments later and assaulting the victim with a weapon and fleeing the scene.

Police checked the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful.

It is believed the suspect and victim were known to each other.

A suspect has been identified but has not been located at this time.

Police are continuing to investigate.
