Trial date still to be set for man facing charge in Wenzel death

PRINCE ALBERT - A man charged in the death of Norman Wenzel is still to see his trial date scheduled at Prince Albert Court of King's Bench.

Quentin Gardiner, 38, is charged with first-degree murder in the case. 

Gardiner is next scheduled for a private pre-trial conference on Jan. 17, 2025.

Prince Albert Police Service arrested Gardiner for the charge on Aug. 12, 2024.

Police previously reported, on July 1, 2024, at 1:15 a.m., the Prince Albert Police Service and Parkland Ambulance responded to a residence on Kemp Crescent in Prince Albert for a complaint of a disturbance. Police located a 41-year-old male suffering from severe injuries. The male was transported to the Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries. The 41-year-old victim has been identified as Norman Wenzel.
