15 years after winning the Junior A national hockey championship as a player, Brayden Klimosko is hoping to do the same again as the Battlefords North Stars head coach.

The North Stars will play in the Centennial Cup May 11-21 in Portage la Prairie, Man. The Junior A national championship features the host Terriers and nine champions from the Canadian Junior Hockey League.

The Battlefords North Stars beat the Flin Flon Bombers 7-4 on April 22 to claim the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League championship in a four-game sweep.

The Battlefords North Stars won Game 1 against the Flin Flon Bombers 5-2 and Game 2 3-0.

The Humboldt Broncos and Melfort Mustangs' post-season is over.

As of Monday, the Battlefords North Stars won their first two games against the Melfort Mustangs, while the Humboldt Broncos trailed the Flin Flon Bombers 2-0.

Cole Duperreault scored the winner 95 seconds into overtime.

The Estevan Bruins and the Flin Flon Bombers will compete to determine who moves on in a Game 7 on March 28.

Estevan can wrap up the best-of-seven series with a victory.

Game 6 will be Sunday in Estevan at 7 p.m.
