Carlyle United Church will be hosting a 'Blue Christmas' service at the church again this year. The service, which is held to support those who find themselves grieving for whatever reason, is delivered as a non-denomination service.

Hockey season is upon us once again. The Carlyle Bantam team is ready and excited to start the season with good times and good hockey. Taking on the coaching roles this year are Fritz Sauter and Clarke Lemieux.

I remember my arrival and first day in Carlyle quite clearly, though that isn't particularly surprising, as seeing it was only just over two years ago now.

We had a friend call us the other day. She's coming to town with her kids and she wants to know if they can stay at our place for a couple of days. We put her into a stall pattern. We don't quite know how to deal with this. See, it's not our friend.

A new crop has been sprouting over this month, and formerly clean fields can now be seen bewhiskered as numerous folks take part in a growing international trend, Movember.

The inherit kindness of a home-grown Saskatchewan guy has garnered Wawota native, Brooks Laich, a nomination for the Sports Illustrated "Sportsman of the Year" award. "I don't how to take it really," said Laich.

The Pee Wee Cougars had their home tournament last weekend. At the rink was a good place to be with the weather being so cold outside. Teams from Kipling, Lampman, Estevan, and Stoughton attended.

Some words just seem to roll deliciously around the tongue while others, more guttural in sound and pronunciation, seem harsher in meaning and more deliberate in their elocution. Take, for example, the word "oxymoron".

A larger than usual crowd came out to the Stoughton library the evening of Monday Nov. 15th. for a most interesting presentation.
