Wanda Michel, who is the EWF's president and the head of the awards committee, told the crowd that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the EWF, and she said there would be a celebration at their annual fundraising dinner later this year.

"We are one of the biggest clubs in the province, and it's all because of so many of you that take an interest and love in our wildlife, our conservation and our kids, teaching them the importance of that," said Michel.

Eighty years is an important milestone, and she hopes to see as many people as possible at the fundraising banquet.

Michel also saluted the club's executive and its volunteers for all of their contributions.

"That's a group of people that put in an awful lot of time all year to make things happen and to make our organization move forward. We bring lots of things to our provincial body."

If people have thoughts on wildlife and conservation issues or want to see changes, Michel encourages them to approach a member of the executive. Concerns will be brought to the provincial convention later this month.
