City of Weyburn gives notice of cemetery maintenance

The City of Weyburn notified residents that unauthorized items left on grave sites at Hillcrest Cemetery will be removed after Oct. 15.

The City of Weyburn is advising residents to remove unauthorized items from grave sites in Hillcrest Cemetery by Oct. 15.

WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn, in its ongoing commitment to maintaining the appearance of Hillcrest Cemetery, would like to inform the public of the enforcement of the Hillcrest Cemetery Bylaw. Under Section 7, all unauthorized articles left on graves must be removed by Sunday, Oct.15.

This provision is designed to facilitate the essential maintenance tasks carried out by the cemetery staff in the winter season.

After Oct. 15, unauthorized articles will be removed by staff and items deemed of monetary value by the administrator will be stored for a limited time.

The City of Weyburn recognizes the importance of honouring the memories of loved ones and wishes to emphasize that this enforcement of Section 7 of the Hillcrest Cemetery Bylaw is undertaken with the utmost respect and consideration.
