ESTEVAN - The 2023 edition of the Energy City Ex. kicked off in style Thursday with the SMILE Services Estevan Parade.
The parade started at Westview School. It then snaked its way through southwest and central Estevan.
A large crowd gathered to witness the parade. Residents of Hill View Manor were delighted to see the parade pass by their home. Spectators could be found watching from the sidewalks, but largest crowds were on the 1000 and 1100 blocks of Fourth Street, and the 800-block of 13th Avenue.
A wide variety of participants were entered. Some of them rode vehicles or were part of horse-and-rider tandems. Others had floats. Some participants walked the parade route and tossed candy to the children who eagerly waited the treats.
