Beavers prepare for the playoffs

The Weyburn Beavers wrapped up the 2010 regular season, and prepared for their first playoff series since 2003, by sweeping a two-game series with the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets.

Silver Seals compete at Southerns

Twenty-eight members of the Weyburn Silver Seals competed at the Southern Semi-Finals in Regina on July 24. Four swimmers earned individual overall medals. Steven Speers won gold in the 13 and 14 boys by finishing first in all five of his events.

Weyburn's Claudia Lenferna set a new provincial record during the Weyburn Silver Seals' annual swim meet July 17.Lenferna, who is also Weyburn's head coach, set the record in the 18-and-over girls' 50-metre butterfly with a time of 33.31 seconds.
