Cheers and Jeers for Feb. 25

Cheers: Cheers to the Grade 3 class at Sacred Heart School/École SacréCoeur for making valentines for the addiction recovery centre patients. It really brightened their day, which they were unable to spend with their loved ones.

Cheers to the two trucks that stopped to help a person who fell on King Street recently. Their concern was much appreciated. Hope it didn't cause any traffic trouble because of the stop.

Ìý

Cheers to the different organizations in the community that found a way to have activities for children during the week off school, whether it be in-person or digitally.

Ìý

Cheers to Choose Life Ministry for having a Coldest Night of the Year walk on Saturday. As a bonus, it wasn’t close to being the coldest night of the year.

Ìý

Cheers to the Estevan Exhibition Association for looking ahead and trying to think of ways they can have something fun for the community this year.

Ìý

Cheers to the Estevan Mercury and Tourism Estevan for the 101 Things to do in Estevan This Winter promotion. Sometimes you don’t realize all the great things we can do, even during a pandemic, until you see it on paper.

Ìý

Cheers to the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum for another edition of the Inside-Out art exhibit at the Woodlawn Regional Park. Great to see the art while out for a walk.Ìý

Jeers:

Ìý

Jeers for using COVID as an excuse to not acknowledge well-deserving employees, especially during appreciation weeks.

Ìý

Jeers to those who carelessly allowed electrical cords to cross sidewalks when plugging in vehicles. It creates a serious trip hazard for those whose only way to get around is to walk.

Ìý

Jeers to drivers who refuse to use their signal lights. When it’s really icy out, it’s just another danger created for everyone else.
