Congratulations to Dylan and Celeste Lamontagne on the birth of their son. He was born on Feb. 9 and weighed four pounds, 14 ounces. He has been named Lucien (Lution) Rene Joseph and he is a brother for Clarice.

Congratulations to Dylan and Celeste Lamontagne on the birth of their son. He was born on Feb. 9 and weighed four pounds, 14 ounces. He has been named Lucien (Lution) Rene Joseph and he is a brother for Clarice. He is also a grandson for Hector and Jeanine Lamontagne and Garry and Monique Dumaine of Storthoaks. Great-grandparents are Rene and Patsy Jacques, Edward and Sharon Lamontagne, Aimee and Loraine Dumaine of Redvers and Arthur and Jeannette Henrion, also of Redvers. 

Sympathy to the family and friends of Karen Aulie of Rouleau. She passed away on Feb. 13 at the age of 59 years. She was predeceased by her mother, Adelaide Weckmam, and her mother-in-law, Becky Aulie. She is survived by her husband, Bill and her children, Keith (Ashley) and Krystal (Sheldon), and her grandchildren Emerson, Liam and Blaire. She is also survived by her father, Gerry Weckmam, and her in-laws Jack and Helen Aulie. 

The Scotties Tournament of Hearts national curling championship is a welcome relief to the restrictions of the COVID virus. We are enjoying watching the two Maryfield girls, Val Sweeting, who is the third on the Kerri Einersen's rink, and Rachel Erickson who is an alternate on the MacKenzie Zacharias rink.  

News from the Wawota Signal from February 1967: 

·      The United Church Women are working on a centennial quilt; 

·      The Paul Palendat (Joe Weatherald, Ron Porter and Marv Carpenter) rink won the Massey Ferguson Bonspiel; 

·      The old hospital was advertised for sale; 

·      Two local births were announced, being Gloria Petterson and Alan Easton.
