It鈥檚 great that we mark occasions such as Pink Shirt Day. Not that long ago, it wasn鈥檛 a thing. It wasn鈥檛 until a male Grade 9 student in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt in 2007 that we started to mark the occasion.

Digital cameras are amazing. You can see something that you like, capture an image, and evaluate it on the spot. If you are not satisfied, you can keep taking pictures until you get one you like. Photography was not always this way though.

Politicians seldom get enough credit for making the tough decisions they don鈥檛 want to make or that they know people won鈥檛 like.

In our house it鈥檚 usually Scattergories, Sequence, Uno or one of a myriad of trivia games that find their way to the kitchen table when we want to play a board game. The titles change over time.

The first of the month brought the annual tenant's meeting where, by vote, I became the new president and also will continue as reporter. Thank you for your votes and I will do my best.

Congratulations to Lauren Wilson who has been placed, for the fifth time, on the honour list for the 2020 winter semester.

The Alida community extends sincere sympathy to Barry Miller on the passing of his sister Lynne Haatvedt of Strathmore, Alta., on Feb. 7 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary at the age of 69 years.

Cheers: Cheers to the tow truck drivers who were out in the frigid weather conditions to give people鈥檚 vehicles a boost last week. They definitely earned their wages.
