Canora Grade 12 students were among nearly 20,000 elementary and high school students under the voting age who cast ballots for the provincial election in the Student Vote program for the 2016 Saskatchewan provincial election.

Swimming pool staff hired

The Canora swimming pool staff for the 2016 season were hired at the March 1 meeting of Canora town council. Hired as manager was JilliAnn Sawatsky, while the assistant manager is Philomina Mykytyshyn.

Hoehn rink wins Canora Men’s Bonspiel

The Ron Hoehn rink, with Merv Tomski, Bob Roll, and Mike Spelay, won the Canora Men’s Bonspiel which was held March 8-12. The Bob Lumley rink placed second; the John Zbitniff Jr. rink, third; and the Sheldon Luciw rink, fourth.
