YORKTON - The City of Yorkton will put forward one name for a Meritorious Service Award at the 2024 SUMA Convention.
“Traditionally Council has approved employees who meet the criteria to attend the SUMA Banquet and in 2024 there is one employee, whom have confirmed they wish to attend,” Kaylee Diduck, Human Resources Advisor with the city told the regular meeting of Council Monday.
Two other employees have completed the necessary years of service to attend but declined the offer, she added.
Shane Drosky is the employee to be put forward this year.
“Drosky has 20 years of service with the City of Yorkton. He began his career as a probationary fire fighter in 2003 with Yorkton Protective Fire Services. In 2004 Shane received a full time position which he currently holds. As a Firefighter, Shane is responsible for, but not limited to, responding to all alarms, assisting with fire prevention, public education, and public safety programs both in and out of the station. Shane is a great example of a long term employee, growing up in Yorkton and giving back through his career,” said Diduck.
The SUMA Awards Banquet will be held on April 16, 2024 in Regina.
