NORTH BATTLEFORD – Two people are facing weapons and drug-related offences after the Battlefords RCMP Gang Task Force executed two search warrants on March 24 as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
During the search at suite in multi-dwelling complex and at a residence in North Battleford, police seized approximately 1,700 grams of methamphetamine, 28,000 illegal cigarettes, five firearms, ammunition, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Shara Swindler, 44, from North Battleford, was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, five counts careless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm with tampered serial number, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
Sheldon Johnstone, 47, also from North Battleford, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and obstructing a peace officer.
Swindler and Johnstone will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court May 27.
