Man arrested for sexual assault in Regina

Police nab suspect after traffic stop for a vehicle driving erratically.

REGINA – A 64-year-old Regina man is facing multiple charges after a sexual assault that occurred over the weekend.

Police were dispatched to a business on the 4100 block of Fifth Avenue at around 1:50 a.m. on Feb. 25

“Police arrived and located the victim, a 41-year-old female, and it was learned that she entered a vehicle on the 1100 block of Angus Street, and was sexually assaulted,” said RPS in a media release. “The assailant choked the victim and threatened to kill her.”

The victim was able to escape the vehicle after the assault in the Wascana Street and Fifth Avenue area, and called police from a nearby business.

“Police observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area and a vehicle stop was performed,” RPS said. “Evidence of the assault was observed, and the male was arrested and charged.”

Eugene Laramee is charged with sexual assault, uttering threats, and aggravated sexual assault with choking. He made his first court appearance on these charges today.
