Weapons found during traffic stop; two individuals face charges

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded, sawed-off .22 caliber rifle, various .22 caliber ammunition, a machete, and a small knife.

The 24-year-old male driver and 22-year-old female passenger are facing multiple weapons-related charges, while the 19-year-old male passenger in the rear seat was later released without charges.

SASKATOON - Early Thursday morning, police arrested three people after a traffic stop led to the discovery of weapons in their vehicle. The incident occurred at approximately 2:10 a.m. near the intersection of 19th Street East and Avenue Q South.

According to police, while one officer spoke with the male driver, another officer noticed a firearm concealed behind the female passenger. All three occupants of the vehicle, including a second male in the rear seat, were immediately ordered out and taken into custody.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded, sawed-off .22 caliber rifle, various .22 caliber ammunition, a machete, and a small knife. All of the weapons were seized by the police.

The 24-year-old male driver and 22-year-old female passenger are facing multiple weapons-related charges, while the 19-year-old male passenger in the rear seat was later released without charges.
