Stanley Mission woman charged with attempted murder gets bail

Two charged with attempted murder, robbery, aggravated sexual assault, unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, choking to render a person incapable of resistance, drug trafficking and weapons-related offences.

One Stanley Mission resident was released and the other was denied bail in La Ronge Provincial Court.

LA RONGE – Two Stanley Mission residents facing an attempted murder charge had bail hearings in La Ronge Provincial Court with one being released and the other denied bail. Roseann Halkett, 33, was released Friday but Jonas Hardlotte, 36, was denied bail on Monday. Details of bail hearings can't typically be published. 

The two were arrested after La Ronge RCMP General Investigation Section [GIS] got a report on March 9 about a serious assault and robbery that had occurred in June 2022. La Ronge GIS, La Ronge RCMP, Stanley Mission RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s La Ronge Crime Reduction Team investigated the incident and raided a Stanley Mission home on March 14. They seized 15 long-barrelled firearms [including one semi-automatic model], two handguns [one loaded], ammunition, prohibited magazines, 10 knives and two cans of bear spray. They also located and seized approximately 31 grams of methamphetamine, 85 grams of cocaine, 672 grams of cannabis, a sum of cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Hardlotte and Halkett, both from Stanley Mission, were each charged with attempted murder, robbery, aggravated sexual assault, unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, choking to render another person incapable of resistance, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unlicensed possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, and possession of a prohibited device.

Hardlotte and Halkett are back in La Ronge Provincial Court April 17 and May 8 respectively.
