The wind blew, the snow fell, and good spirits were evident everywhere as Carlyle held its eighth annual Dickens Village Festival.

The Bantam Cougars travelled to Radville Nov.25 and Weyburn Nov.27. The team played well both these games. Lots of passing and teamwork led the Cougars to victory in both these games. 4-3 vs.Radville and 11-0 vs Weyburn Co-op.

With the holiday season around the corner the school has been buzzing with busy motions of students completing assignments, teachers wrapping up units and everyone getting ready for the festive events that will be occurring.

A recent protest of about 50 frustrated ranchers at the Saskatchewan legislature stood out for a couple of reasons.

The Pee Wee Cougars were "tournamenting" again last weekend. They finished second in their pool and ended up winning the B Side Final in a one day tournament in Estevan. In the first game, against Estevan Sanjel, the Cougars came out strong.

Last Thursday, during the noon hour, the staff and students had an opportunity to play volleyball against each other and against a team made up of EMT and RCMP members. All the school's volleyball players formed mixed teams to compete.

Over the years, calendars featuring firefighters have become popular stocking stuffers. Filled with men wearing some or all of their firefighting gear, the calendars are often put together to raise money for one cause or another.

The Wawota-based business, Front Porch Interiors, took a step up in the world recently when the store moved to its new, built-to-order location.
