REGINA — Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the death of a Prince Albert man discovered in a Regina park over a month ago, after an extended investigation by the Regina Police Service.
A death investigation began on Dec. 16, after police, fire and EMS services were called to Greenburg Park on the 1900 block of Broder Street due to the report of a deceased individual.
Police have now identified the deceased man as Harvey Beatty, 22, of Prince Albert, after declining to share that information at the time of the investigation's start. Police also said information relating to Beatty’s death at the time was limited due to no apparent crime scene, making investigation “complex.”
Over a month later, police have now officially deemed Beatty’s death a homicide and laid charges against one man and one woman in connection with the case.
A 41-year-old man and 30-year-old woman, both of Regina, have been charged with second degree murder under the Criminal Code.
Both made their first appearance in provincial court on Monday morning.
